I watched Nations United: Urgent Solutions for Urgent Times and the most important thing I learned is that injustice and inequality it killing us and our planet. I've learned that the connection between our leaders and our current state is inseparable. If there was more diversity in the world's leadership life would be better for ALL of us. We cannot keep doing the same things and expecting different results.

I watched Kiss the Ground and the most important thing I learned from it was how important healthy soil is climate change. I did not know that so much carbon is released into the atmosphere through tilling. I will take with me the importance of shopping locally for meats and produce.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Health & Equity
What was it like to practice mindfulness? If this is a practice for you already, what was something new you understood in practicing during Earth Month?

While practicing mindfulness today I realized I want to reframe self-discipline as self-love. Taking care of myself and the environment around me is an act of love. I want to show up as my best self.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION

How does practicing a work-life balance create a more sustainable life for you? How might it contribute to sustainability more broadly?

Taking time everyday to take care of myself gives me the boost I need to care for others and the environment. I definitely believe that the more work-life balance the world has the more time we'll have for innovation to tackle environmental problems.
