REFLECTION QUESTIONHealth & EquityWhat was it like to practice mindfulness? If this is a practice for you already, what was something new you understood in practicing during Earth Month?
Cary Anne Broadway 4/07/2023 6:13 AMI attended a Nidra Yoga session for the full moon. This was my first time trying Nidra Yoga and I did not like it as much as I thought I would. Nidra yoga involves a lot of lying flat and visualizing, and it was hard to keep focused. I think a Yoga session that keeps me moving and engaged would help me more. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONEconomy & CommunitiesWhat was it like to mend your clothing? If you are skilled at mending, what tips do you have for others?
Cary Anne Broadway 4/07/2023 6:10 AMI spent time scrubbing my white shoes with a mylar sponge to whiten the rubber parts of the shoes. I also have a pair of knockoff Air Force One's that after 2 years are already coming apart. I used E6000 glue and a sponge brush to get in between the rubber and the pleather and bonded them back together. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONHealth & EquityWhat are the implications for a culture that spends most of its time inside and on screens?
Cary Anne Broadway 4/07/2023 6:07 AMWent to an indoor/outdoor bar for trivia night and was able to sit in the open air and play "The Office" trivia with a fellow colleague. And we won! -
REFLECTION QUESTIONBasic Needs & SecurityWhat surprised you about the two produce lists? How will you use these lists for your grocery shopping? Have you used these lists before?
Cary Anne Broadway 4/04/2023 6:53 AMI don't eat a lot of veggies but I know that I love a veggie tray at parties and picnics. I bought a veggie tray with a lid and cut up all my veggies, make a dip, put it all in the tray and keep it in the fridge for a snack or quick lunch. It's been fun to try different dips. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONClimate & EcosystemsHow can spending more time outdoors enhance your sense of place? Was there a new place in your region that was exciting to learn about and visit?
Cary Anne Broadway 4/04/2023 6:44 AMI visited Hanging Rock state park and learned about the local wildlife and natural rocks. I also learned about the Saura Native American tribe that used to inhabit the area. I hiked to the waterfall and enjoyed the view.
