  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Climate & Ecosystems
What was your experience like plogging, or engaging in another way to collect litter while being outside? Was there any item you collected that was unusual that you found?

I just read about plogging and plalking and love the idea! It's a very intentional way of beautifying your community while working out. I will start carrying a bag with me every time I go for my daily walk so I can pick up trash (getting my squats in while doing this) along the way!

Working together to clean up our neighborhood park is a great feeling! Our annual cleanup began 19 years ago and was initiated by me and my family. It's so gratifying to see it being continued all these years later by our whole community.

Environmental and climate grief is something that always lurks in the corners of my mind. For me, the best way to deal with it is to take action, especially collective action with others. When I am able to see how our actions add up to measurable, positive change, I feel SO much better!

For many of us who do environmental education, this is one of the busiest times of the year. I look forward to connecting with fellow KY environmental educators through EcoChallenge so we can cheer each other on in our efforts.
