Anyone else completely gutted by Planet of the Humans?? Don't watch it on a Sunday night......
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Climate & Ecosystems
What is one way you will reduce your carbon footprint? What is a practice you already have that helps you reduce your carbon footprint?

Reviewing hybrid and EV vehicles as I am driving more with my current job than I was previously. One practice that helps reduce my footprint is by recycling and taking the train when I need to go to Portland vice flying!

Marc - I like the way you think! Love the perspective from a longer term owner!

If you can swing it, jump in an go with the full EV! Near zero-maintenance, costs 10% as much to drive as a non hybrid gas car. Lots of good options and incentives available now too. We haven't had a gas car in 4.5 years. Don't miss it at all.

Yay! I just talked to another co-worked about how nice it is to take the train down from Seattle to Portland. And you have the freedom to read and/or do some work on the way down.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Health & Equity
What are the implications for a culture that spends most of its time inside and on screens?

    Ashli Bush's avatar
    Ashli Bush 4/17/2023 8:52 AM
We are less in touch with nature and ourselves and more focused on external things. Less aware of the impact we are having on nature and the Earth.

Well said. I agree and thanks to you and the yoga classes I have been able to focus more on myself!
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Basic Needs & Security
How did you incorporate using an entire vegetable (skins, peels, tops, and stalks) during one of your meal preps? What's something new you're going to try that is a zero-waste meal practice?

    Ashli Bush's avatar
    Ashli Bush 4/17/2023 8:48 AM
By steaming the vegetables and sweet potatoes together, the skins stay on but get soft and easy to eat. More nutrients! This morning was sweet potato, zucchini, asparagus, lacinato kale, and chickpeas!

What was it like to practice mindfulness? If this is a practice for you already, what was something new you understood in practicing during Earth Month?

I tried a different type of breathwork mindfulness today and it helped me tune into my body and mind.

Nice! I love breathwork when I can fit it into my schedule. Check out this one on spotify... "one" means inhale... "two" means exhale...

Exciting to track daily and be more intentional than normal about water and food consumption as well as waste! Let's make them habits to become non-negotiables all year!
