REFLECTION QUESTIONClimate & EcosystemsWhat did you watch, and what was the most important thing you learned in the documentary(ies) you watched? How does what you learned connect to your understanding of climate change and Earth Month?
Janelle Chacon 4/19/2023 10:50 AMI watched a documentary called Hummingbirds that was narrated by the voice of mother nature, David Attenborough. This documentary focused on the vital role that hummingbirds play as pollinators. I learned that there are over 8,000 plant species that depend on them. -
Janelle Chacon 4/18/2023 8:28 AMWatched a good documentary called, Farmland that focused on six young farmers and what they go through to produce our food. I liked this one because they featured GMO and Organic farmers, so I heard from both sides of the industry about their differences and shared challenges.-
Jill Hallonquist 4/19/2023 5:40 AMI'll have to check this one out! Having grown up on a farm, it's interesting to hear the farmers' point of view on food production. We weren't GMO/Organic (that wasn't as common in the 70s and 80s where we lived), so that point of view will be interesting to hear.

Janelle Chacon 4/05/2023 7:24 AMHere is the poem that I wrote for the earth:
Mother EarthA beautiful blue pearl strung out in spaceCreated to sustain the whole human raceYou give yourself freely to all inhabitantsThe gifts you give are so extravagantVersatile are the minerals, plants and animals that you provideEven under the harshest conditions an abundance of life you hideWe ravage and plunder you without a second thoughtYet you still provide for and protect us because you're the only home we've gotPlease forgive us for our arrogant and hurtful waysYour kind and so you surround us with reminders if we are present each daySpending time on your surface heals the soulStopping to acknowledge your gifts the spirit you console-
