Hard to believe it is the last day of the Eco Challenge. It has definitely been a huge learning experience that I have greatly enjoyed. I have learned many things that I will carry on with me. Have really enjoyed learning from others and seeing all the ways folks have completed the Eco Challenge. Thanks to all!

Why is it important to take care of pollinators? Do you have a favorite pollinator?

Pollinators help plants that bring us food and other resources so it is important to support them. I love Coneflowers and have them in multiple colors. The ones I planted today are pink.

I watched an extraordinary documentary called “Into the Fire” which chronicles a group of Yazidi women who work to clear land mines left by ISIS. The ISIS devastation is seem everywhere but the spirit and courage of those left behind is absolutely awe inspiring.

What did you watch, and what was the most important thing you learned in the documentaries you watched? How does what you learned connect to your understanding of climate change and Earth Month?

I watched Lost & Found which is an excellent documentary about a man reuniting lost loved ones at a refugee camp. They had fled Myanmar due to violence and ethnic cleansing. It was very powerful and showed the heart and resilience of people. I also watched The Lost Forest. It is about a group of scientists and explorers that travel to Mozambique to reach a forest no human has set foot on. Fascinating to see what they discovered in regards to new species, information about earth and the climate.

I had a bird try to build a nest on my outdoor light by my front door. I was told not a good place to allow a nest to be built so I removed the small amount of stuff they brought over. I hope they build one in my tree instead.

I am getting so excited for Spring to really take off! Seeing some lilies starting to come up and the lilac bush bud makes it seem like it will eventually get here.
