Morgan's actions
Health & Equity
Spend Time Outside
SDG 3
I will replace 30 minute(s) per day typically spent inside (computer time, watching television, etc.) with quality time outside exercising, enjoying the sunrise/sunset, gardening, journaling, or practicing gratitude for nature.
Basic Needs & Security
Volunteer in My Community
SDG 1
I will volunteer 4 hours in my community.
Education & Livelihood
Try Carpooling
SDG 11
I will commute by carpool 25 mile(s) per day and avoid sending up to (___) lbs of CO2 into Earth's atmosphere.
Health & Equity
Donate Food
SDG 3, 10
I will find out what food programs are in my area and donate food and/or other items that they request.
Basic Needs & Security
Try a New Vegan or Vegetarian Recipe
I will try a new vegan or vegetarian recipe and share how it turns out on the Ecochallenge feed, or with family and friends.
Basic Needs & Security
Reduce Animal Product Consumption
SDG 2
One kilogram of beef and cheese emits 71kg and 24kg of greenhouse gasses, while 1kg of rice, grains, and legumes emits between 2-4kg. Fruits, vegetables, and nuts emit less than 1kg per 1kg. I will reduce my climate impact by enjoying 1 meatless meals and/or 0 vegan meals each day this week.
Economy & Communities
Choose LED Bulbs
SDG 7
I will replace 10 incandescent light bulb(s) with Energy Star-certified LED bulbs, saving up to $14 per fixture per year.
Health & Equity
Track My Purchases
SDG 10
Each day, I will track my purchases to identify my spending habits. This will allow me to see what purchases can be reduced.
Climate & Ecosystems
Drive Less
SDG 13
To reduce CO2 emissions each day, I will cut my car trip mileage by only taking necessary trips.
Basic Needs & Security
Calculate Your Water Footprint
SDG 6
I will calculate my water footprint and look for a few ways I can reduce consumption or waste.
Basic Needs & Security
Know Your Produce
SDG 2
I will become a savvy produce shopper when buying organic and non-organic items.

REFLECTION QUESTIONBasic Needs & SecurityWhat is one way you will reduce your water use? What is a practice you already have that helps you reduce your water use?
Morgan Conklin 4/30/2023 9:24 AMMoving forward, I will try to be more conscious of the amount of time I let the water run while washing dishes. It doesn't take long to waste water. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONHealth & EquityHow have you reduced your purchasing habits and what would you like to do next to reduce your consumption habits?
Morgan Conklin 4/30/2023 9:20 AMI have definitely tried to reduce the amount of times I purchase coffee when I'm running errands. I have tried to adapt the mindset that buying coffee should be a fun little treat or pick me up rather than an everday occurrence. Making coffee at home is cheaper, quicker, and more sustainable! -
Morgan Conklin 4/30/2023 9:17 AMI've been trying to be more conscious about the waste I create and have invested in Stasher reusable sandwich and snack bags, as well as glass straws. I also bring my own water bottle wherever I go or grab a glass cup from the kitchen at work to stay hydrated.
