I spent time yesterday cleaning out my closets to donate to the local Salvation Army. I thought this would be a good opportunity to repurpose clothing that I am no longer using.

Oh my gosh, Shannon, me too. I have two large bags of clothing and accessories to donate, plus I finally have some space in my closet. Everyone wins!

I have enjoyed during roadside cleanups because it has a immediate effect on the neighborhoods in which I live.

I scheduled to do a park cleanup event with the Clinton River Watershed Council in Auburn Hills (2 hours) on April 26th. I also volunteered to be trained as a Clinton River Watershed Council Water tester (2 hours) so that I can participate in a testing event twice per year (May/October). It will be a great way to get involved locally with a great organization that is devoted to protecting and improving the health of the Clinton River and Lake St. Clair..

It is the start of the month, but the EcoChallenge daily emails are a great way to stay on track. They have reminded me to schedule myself of volunteer events.

I chose to get involved in this EcoChallenge as a way to increase my awareness for Sustainability. I chose challenges that I thought I could accomplish within 30 days. I look forward to learning from others and creating new habits.
