  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Health & Equity
What was it like to practice mindfulness? If this is a practice for you already, what was something new you understood in practicing during Earth Month?

I have been practicing mindfulness for about a year now. It helps me in so many ways. I try to be mindful at least once a day to just be totally emersed in what I am doing at that moment. It is an amazing experience and I am glad that I do it!
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Health & Equity
What are the implications for a culture that spends most of its time inside and on screens?

Spending most of your time inside and or on screens - you loose touch with nature and all the beautiful and amazing things to experience, will have a vitamin D deficiency, increased chances for depression and anxiety and isolation,
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Education & Livelihood
How does practicing a work-life balance create a more sustainable life for you? How might it contribute to sustainability more broadly?

Work-Life-Balance it keeps me grounded, not allowing work to consume my life, and not allowing my life to interfere with my work. Without work, we don't have that daily driver, which fulfills our need for accomplishments, self motivation, networking with others, etc. I have found that taking 5-10 minutes 2-3 times in a work day, it helps my focus, reduces my stress, gives me clarity, and helps me contribute in a positive way to our work environment.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION

What was your experience like plogging, or engaging in another way to collect litter while being outside? Was there any item you collected that was unusual that you found?

I started taking a break from work and I walk around the entire premise. I thought this is a perfect opportunity to start plogging. I was completely dumbfounded at how much trash there was all around the facility. We are a new location - only been in operation here for 7 months and I am filling a trash bag!
