Joanne Fitzgerald 4/27/2023 8:09 AMIt is a great site!. We're hopefully getting Cherrywood added to the All-Pollinator map in the next month or so, and we already have Arklow signed up to the All-Pollinator plan since last year.

Health & Equity
Spend Time Outside
SDG 3
I will replace 20 minute(s) per day typically spent inside (computer time, watching television, etc.) with quality time outside exercising, enjoying the sunrise/sunset, gardening, journaling, or practicing gratitude for nature.
Basic Needs & Security
Take 5-Minute Or Less Showers
SDG 6
I will save up to 6 gallons (23 L) of water each day by taking 5-minute showers. Tip: Use a timer to practice or count to 60 a few times.
Education & Livelihood
Plan A Staycation in Your Community
SDG 11
For an upcoming vacation, I will spend 30 minutes planning out a staycation in my region. For reference, one several hour flight releases the equivalent of nearly 14% of the annual emissions from a car.
Climate & Ecosystems
Plant a Tree
SDG 15
On average, a tree absorbs 10 kilograms (22 pounds) of carbon dioxide yearly during the first 20 years. To do my part, I will plant 1 trees in my community, public parks, or backyard.
Climate & Ecosystems
Watch a Documentary About Climate Change or Nature
SDG 13, 14, 15
I will watch 2 documentaries about climate change.
Climate & Ecosystems
Support Local Pollinators
SDG 15
At least 30% of crops and 90% of flowering plants rely on pollinators to produce fruit. I will plant pollinator-friendly plants in my area to support local pollinators.
Climate & Ecosystems
Create & Share A Love Letter, Poem, Song or Picture
SDG 14, 15
I will express my love and gratitude for our planet by writing a love letter, poem, song or taking a picture. I will share this in the Ecochallenge feed or on my social media.
Economy & Communities
Online Energy Audit
SDG 7
I will complete an online energy audit of my home, office, or dorm room and identify my next steps for saving energy.
Economy & Communities
Analyze Your Utility Bills
SDG 7
I spend 60 minutes analyzing my recent utility bills, which might include electricity, gas, or water to see what my current usage is and determine if I can reduce my energy and water use.

REFLECTION QUESTIONClimate & EcosystemsWhy is it important to take care of pollinators? Do you have a favorite pollinator?
Aisling Doyle 4/27/2023 3:16 AMWho knew there were so many! Great website here: Who are our pollinators? » All-Ireland Pollinator Plan As to my favourite, i would have said Bee but now I know butterflies are included i'm inclined to switch my answer! -
REFLECTION QUESTIONClimate & EcosystemsHow is planting trees good for your mental, physical, and spiritual health?
Aisling Doyle 4/26/2023 1:55 AMCherry blossoms popping up everywhere to let us know warmer days are coming brings a smile to my face almost daily throughout April / early May -
REFLECTION QUESTIONEconomy & CommunitiesWhat most interested or surprised you about your energy audit?
Aisling Doyle 4/25/2023 6:23 AMThe multiple ways it can be improved, often standalone mechanisms that are achievable and will make an immediate impact -

REFLECTION QUESTIONClimate & EcosystemsWhy is art an important way for you to express sustainability values?
Aisling Doyle 4/21/2023 4:18 AMWhen I think of art, the first images that come to mind are reflections of the beauty of nature - seascapes, mountains, puddles reflecting spring flowers, cherry blossom trees in bloom... -
REFLECTION QUESTIONHealth & EquityWhat are the implications for a culture that spends most of its time inside and on screens?
Aisling Doyle 4/17/2023 5:52 AMHard to know, on a personal level, i need to spend time outside and find that i am better for it. I can problem solve better outside and often find inspiration there to unblock a bottleneck i am facing with work or personally. Quite often this is as simple as knowing what to focus on. The order of importance is clearer to me when i have had some fresh air! -
REFLECTION QUESTIONBasic Needs & SecurityWith 5-minute or less showers reducing your water footprint, what do you plan to add next to your water conservation habits?
Aisling Doyle 4/12/2023 8:52 AMInstead of filling the watering can from the tab to water the plants, re-use other water such as unfinished water glasses when people call!-
Mark Langton 4/12/2023 9:00 AMJust have to remember to not mistake the recycled water container for the bottled water one! We have a dehumidifier and use the water from it to water the plants.
My mom used to water her huge collection of house plants and garden pots with water from baths. The plants don't mind a bit of bubbles!

Aisling Doyle 4/11/2023 3:48 AMFantastic to have a four day weekend, we were blessed with weather representing all four seasons in the Sunny South East! Managed a slow and windy run on the beach going to longest distance i have in months (wind was clearly behind me!)
Easter bunny made an appearance too and nice to see some of the packaging reduced from previous years. More to go but it's a start!
