Spend 15 minutes learning about the Emerge Program at WSP. Emerge is WSP's strategic alliance program that seeks early-stage companies with novel solutions as strategic partners. Partners get access to in-house subject matter experts, an opportunity to pilot their products/technologies with WSP during the evaluation phase and have access to our client base. Emerge propels our partners by accelerating the product/technology adoption. Having recently launched our 4th cohort, Emerge has accelerated a number of companies whose mission aligns with UN SDGs. • Olokun Minerals • ecoSPEARS • PLAEX Building Systems

REFLECTION QUESTIONBasic Needs & SecurityWhat did you watch, and what was the most important thing you learned in the documentaries you watched? How does what you learned connect to your understanding of climate change and Earth Month?
Evelyn Dsouza 4/12/2023 12:58 PMI watched Julie Sinistore's presentation Resource, Social and Environmental Impacts of Food Choices. Wow! Although I was generally aware about the lower energy, water, and land costs of a plant-based diet, I wasn't aware of how vast those differences were quantitatively. I am genuinely convinced about dropping red meat and pork, if nothing else. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONClimate & EcosystemsHow has your access to various kinds of transportation throughout your life influenced your current attitudes about transportation and your transportation behavior?
Evelyn Dsouza 4/10/2023 6:27 AMI live in a very car-centric part of the United States, which is already very car-centric! Even though New Jersey apparently ranks well in public transportation, my world is very much geared toward cars. That does create the attitude in me that I can get anywhere almost instantly and never have to put up with extra stops or delays. But of course, instant gratification is a huge part of how we got into this whole mess... -
REFLECTION QUESTIONClimate & EcosystemsDo you think YellowTin will be useful?
Evelyn Dsouza 4/04/2023 1:31 PMYes, I do! It's a great starting point; it's nice to at least take some inventory of what's feasible in my geographic area and go from there. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONClimate & EcosystemsWhat was a linking factor across this group of SDGs?
Evelyn Dsouza 4/03/2023 7:54 AMAt first glance, the goals seem distinct from one another. However, a closer look quickly reveals the necessary interconnectedness of climate, water, and land sustainability. One linking factor is carbon. -
Evelyn Dsouza 4/03/2023 7:11 AMHi everyone! I am new to the company and new to Ecochallenge. I'm still learning this platform and figuring out how to contribute. I appreciate this extra boost to recommit to my personal sustainability goals. All the best to our team! :)
