Kids Earth Day

Each year, I visit my children's classrooms and teach them about pollution and how they can do their part to help keep our planet healthy and beautiful. We do an experiment with water, "polluting" it with food dye, coffee, vegetable oil, and household "trash" (wrappers, bottles, etc.) and then try to remove the pollution using a variety of tools (spoons, tongs, strainers, etc). We finish the Earth Day activity with a story about the Little Green Monster who learns his own lesson about how is actions can impact the environment.
