REFLECTION QUESTIONEducation & LivelihoodHow does working with others to clean up your community make you feel?
Andrew Eddy 4/22/2023 12:00 PMIt was a great experience and awesome to meet others that were interested in similar causes. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONClimate & EcosystemsWhat was a linking factor across this group of SDGs?
Andrew Eddy 4/21/2023 11:00 AMProtecting our recourses through sustainable action.
Today we talked about reducing plastic pollution in one of our webinars which specifically focused on goal 14 target 1 below.
Target14.1By 2025, prevent and significantly reduce marine pollution of all kinds, in particular from land-based activities, including marine debris and nutrient pollution. -
Andrew Eddy 4/17/2023 6:00 PMI found a local cleanup event in Austin through the non-profit Keep Austin Beautiful. I was able to grab the last couple of spots. Looking forward to sharing how it goes with our ARG team. -

On my plog today I realized a lot of the litter comes from fast food, cans, bottles, plastic bags and other items associated with addictive habits like smoking. It’s a good example of how what’s happening internally can be projected externally into the world in the form of waste and litter and how focusing on our individual attitudes will have a much greater impact in the long run so we can make better decisions. I did get that keyboard! -
REFLECTION QUESTIONEconomy & CommunitiesWhat did you watch, and what was the most important thing you learned in the documentaries you watched? How does what you learned connect to your understanding of climate change and Earth Month?
Andrew Eddy 4/12/2023 5:54 PMI watched No Impact Man and Before the flood. What I enjoyed most about both of these movies was seeing the difference of taking action on a global scale and on an individual level. They almost feel cosmically different, but there is a real connection between the two. The most important thing I learned was that in order to impact the big picture, especially in America, there needs to be a collective consciousness and growth in many individuals so that politicians and other policy makers fall in line with their views and inact change on a larger scale. It’s hard to turn tide of mainstream society without the support of others. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONClimate & EcosystemsWhat was your experience like plogging, or engaging in another way to collect litter while being outside? Was there any item you collected that was unusual that you found?
Andrew Eddy 4/11/2023 4:29 PMI went for a early run this morning. During my cool down I noticed two big boxes 📦 that were laying near the sidewalk by where I live so I decided to take them to the recycling bin. There’s a broken keyboard 🎹 lying out there that I couldn’t get today. Lol I may go back and get it tomorrow since it’s on my route anyways and take it to the dump another day. Plenty of random stuff out there. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONBasic Needs & SecurityWhat did you watch, and what was the most important thing you learned in the documentaries you watched? How does what you learned connect to your understanding of climate change and Earth Month?
Andrew Eddy 4/08/2023 7:00 PMHoneyland was not the drama I was expecting, but it definitely reminded me of the importance of cooperation. Efforts can easily be lost without it.
