Visit the AGORA on Earth Day (April 18th)
Come by the AGORA on Tuesday, April 18th from 10-2:30 and visit the different tables on display.

Collect your cans!
Every can of soda that my family consumes ends up collected by me in a garbage bag and brought to the grocery store to properly dispose of them. I dropped off the monthly bag.
Climate & Ecosystems
Contact lenses
I place my individually wrapped contact lenses in a different bin to make sure they go where they should go.
Climate & Ecosystems
Electric Auto Show
I attended an auto show where the only care displayed are either hybrid or electric which helps reduce carbon emissions. I helped my father pick a car to replace his current gas guzzler.
Climate & Ecosystems
Attend the “Discover the World of Bees” Workshop at JAC
Did you know that JAC has our own bee hives on the roof? Alveole, the group who manages our bee hives, will present this workshop. Bees are behind a third of all the food we eat, including fruit, veggies, chocolate, nuts, and coffee. In this immersive workshop, you’ll learn more about urban beekeeping and the microcosm that is the hive. We’ll follow a bee’s life’s journey from when she first emerges from her cell to her final flight. When: Thursday April 20 from 1-2pm Where: AME-119 Space is limited. Please register by Tuesday April 18

REFLECTION QUESTIONHealth & EquityWhat was it like to practice mindfulness? If this is a practice for you already, what was something new you understood in practicing during Earth Month?
Isabelle Ede 4/25/2023 11:08 AMI was mindful today as I was on my way to school. I noticed very high water levels near houses and streets and became more conscious on how I could if my neighborhood needed me. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONClimate & EcosystemsWhat did you watch, and what was the most important thing you learned in the documentary(ies) you watched? How does what you learned connect to your understanding of climate change and Earth Month?
Isabelle Ede 4/25/2023 10:11 AMThis documentary was on the melting of the arctic ice. Narrated by David Attenborough, the one piece of information that stuck with me was the fact that that ice contains high levels of methane. If released, it was have the same effects on our planet as CO2 does, but four times stronger... -
