Climate & Ecosystems
Support Local Pollinators
SDG 15
At least 30% of crops and 90% of flowering plants rely on pollinators to produce fruit. I will plant pollinator-friendly plants in my area to support local pollinators.
Climate & Ecosystems
Plant a Tree
SDG 15
On average, a tree absorbs 10 kilograms (22 pounds) of carbon dioxide yearly during the first 20 years. To do my part, I will plant 1 trees in my community, public parks, or backyard.
Climate & Ecosystems
Collect Litter on a Plog / Plalk
SDG 15
Each day, I will go on a plog or plalk for 15 minutes and collect 50 items of litter.
Health & Equity
Track My Purchases
SDG 10
Each day, I will track my purchases to identify my spending habits. This will allow me to see what purchases can be reduced.
Basic Needs & Security
Try a New Vegan or Vegetarian Recipe
I will try a new vegan or vegetarian recipe and share how it turns out on the Ecochallenge feed, or with family and friends.
Education & Livelihood
Work-Life Balance
SDG 8
During the workday, I will schedule time for daily breaks during work days to practice work-life balance.

Kristina Franklin 4/19/2023 9:49 AMMy favorite pollinators are the honeybees. They are so important keep our veggie gardens, fruit trees, community gardens, and farms producing food to nourish us all. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONClimate & EcosystemsHow is planting trees good for your mental, physical, and spiritual health?
Kristina Franklin 4/19/2023 9:46 AMI planted an alder and a flowering red currant- both natives! I decided to try to naturescape my backyard. The beautification will bring me joy every time I look out my kitchen and dining room windows. Weeding and preparing the area to plant the trees was physically demanding since my backyard is a very steep hill.
