I listed to a talk by Dr Ayan Payja about wellness - it was humbling to hear someone else's experiences on small changes they made to improve their own health like belly breathing for destressing and massaging your rib cage for energy.

My favorite online retailer - ThredUp an online consignment store has badges that calculate their shoppers Eco Impact. This challenge drew my eyes to my how much driving emissions (5,418 lbs), gallons of water (52,806) and energy (10,396) saved in all the years I've been shopping with them! Wowzers!

I've always loved digging in the dirt - wonderful way to plug into what's really important.

Living in a residential area near a convenience store, we often volunteer picking up trash on our street - not just in front of our house. It really gives us a sense of accomplishment to see how much nicer things look!
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Basic Needs & Security
How did you incorporate using an entire vegetable (skins, peels, tops, and stalks) during one of your meal preps? What's something new you're going to try that is a zero-waste meal practice?

When I shop for produce I skip the plastic bags altogether. I wash my produce so no need to bother with creating more waste.

Makes you feel like you're doing responsible Earth stewardship when you help family donate to Goodwill instead of spending money to dispose of purposeful items at a landfill.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION

What was it like to practice mindfulness? If this is a practice for you already, what was something new you understood in practicing during Earth Month?
