  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Basic Needs & Security
How did you incorporate using an entire vegetable (skins, peels, tops, and stalks) during one of your meal preps? What's something new you're going to try that is a zero-waste meal practice?

When I’m cooking, I keep a freezer bag full of vegetable scraps. I freeze them and then when I want to make a soup I boil them down for a while to make a vegetable stock!
So much tastier because you can choose what goes into it
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Economy & Communities
What was it like to mend your clothing? If you are skilled at mending, what tips do you have for others?

I’m not the greatest at it, but I do know how to sew. If I can’t get the job done I ask my mother in law or my nana to help.
The clothes are still good, but have a bit of wear and tear and it’s so easily fixable
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Education & Livelihood
How does practicing a work-life balance create a more sustainable life for you? How might it contribute to sustainability more broadly?

It’s important to take breaks during our shifts. Especially on nights I feel like it does help to recharge you a little bit. Gives you a break from the hustle and bustle of the shift, time for you to breathe.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Health & Equity
What was it like to practice mindfulness? If this is a practice for you already, what was something new you understood in practicing during Earth Month?

I often sit with music and just think back about my day. What went well, what would I change?
