WSP - Emerge Program

Spend 15 minutes learning about the Emerge Program at WSP. Emerge is WSP's strategic alliance program that seeks early-stage companies with novel solutions as strategic partners. Partners get access to in-house subject matter experts, an opportunity to pilot their products/technologies with WSP during the evaluation phase and have access to our client base. Emerge propels our partners by accelerating the product/technology adoption. Having recently launched our 4th cohort, Emerge has accelerated a number of companies whose mission aligns with UN SDGs. • Olokun Minerals • ecoSPEARS • PLAEX Building Systems

Recently I began using public transit as my primary method of transportation. In addition to using a transit system that moves groups of people around in a more energy efficient way, the bus I ride to work and around the city is electric. This change has drastically reduced my own carbon footprint. I have also reduced my consumption of animal products. When I do eat meat, I eat chicken or fish which are significantly less impact to the environment than livestock like cattle.

What was it like to practice mindfulness? If this is a practice for you already, what was something new you understood in practicing during Earth Month?

To me mindfulness means awareness in the moment and taking time to reflect on your own current state and the state of your surroundings. Each day I ride the bus to work and to locations around Seattle and I have time to be exposed to other people and see the conditions of the city surrounding me. It is humbling and motivates me to be more active as a steward of my community.
