Claudia Ramirez 4/28/2023 2:12 PMVery interesting! I know some schools or foster care agencies take many things like necklaces, clothing, blankets, books, toys, old crayons, etc and they use it for visitations.

REFLECTION QUESTIONEconomy & CommunitiesWhat was one nonprofit organization that was exciting to learn about?
Jessica Jones 4/28/2023 10:57 AMHaving gone to school at Tulane and attended a many Mardi Gras activities - I have an excess of mardi gras beads. I always hated to throw them away since they are not biodegradable. I found a local charity, Carnegie Visual Arts Center, that has a need for these beads for their own events and I can now donate them... clear out space in my house and give to charity. Win/Win! -
Jessica Jones 4/28/2023 6:35 AMOne great thing about this challenge is seeing that the people that are participating are actually walking the walk. We have some truly inspirational people in our organization. I have enjoyed the social aspects of this challenge getting to chat back and forth and engage with employees that I don't normally get to engage with. -
Jessica Jones 4/27/2023 6:29 AMIt’s always a great feeling when you can get more excited and happy with someone else’s success! Go team yellow and go team alliance!-

Katie Shonk 4/27/2023 10:28 AMDid you see we've planted 18 trees between all the Alliance teammates? I think that's impressive!

Jessica Jones 4/24/2023 10:23 PMWe are almost to the end of this exciting journey and hope everyone will be taking some knowledge or habits into the rest of the year!-
Claudia Ramirez 4/25/2023 9:02 PMThis challenge has opened my eyes and made me realize that small changes do make a difference and that there is many resources out there for sustainability. Also, I learned that some state agencies such as NYSDEC provide free trees and bushes to establish or improve a stream buffer!
