it was raining a lot today so i didn't get to go far by bike as my bike doesn't handle slippery roads that well, but i was able to take a nice walk around my area and my friends' areas. i explored new shops and roads that i hadn't been down before and even though it was raining, it was honestly so relaxing to walk in the rain. i had some calming music playing and i was listening to the cars splash in the puddles and the rain hit the ground. it was very peaceful and made my day

today was nicer weather and the sun came out compared to the past three days. I still have my ISS paper to write and was losing motivation inside my house, so I had biked to a lake about 20-30 minutes from my house and wrote parts of my paper outdoors. the sun, wind, and fresh air had made me feel so much better and be more productive. I also saved on CO2 emissions by taking my bike instead of my car
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Climate & Ecosystems
How can spending more time outdoors enhance your sense of place? Was there a new place in your region that was exciting to learn about and visit?

I had taken a nice walk along the water near my moms condo that I had never went to before but it was really relaxing and a good way to give my brain a break from the homework I'd been doing, in order to get it empty and ready for the next assignment I was going to start. It was really relaxing and allowed me to calm down and de-stress

only received my power late at night on the 9th, it really made me aware how dependent we are as a society on electricity. and it also made me realize how much we can find more eco friendly alternatives. i used candles a lot, and honestly really enjoyed it, i'll probably be doing that more often for light rather than actual lights. i also became more self aware to turn off all my lights right away after using them and when i don't need them
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Basic Needs & Security
With 5-minute or less showers reducing your water footprint, what do you plan to add next to your water conservation habits?

    Lauren Khayat's avatar
    Lauren Khayat 4/10/2023 1:09 PM
not only does shorter showers reduce water footprint, but the shower I had that day was a freezing cold one since there was no power. in the future, i plan to add more cold showers into my habits to also save electricity as i've been analyzing high amounts to our hydro bill in the past
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Economy & Communities
What was it like to create a readiness plan? Did you find other resources you could share?
