What surprised you about the two produce lists? How will you use these lists for your grocery shopping? Have you used these lists before?

I have used these lists before and think they're very helpful for shoppers who want to buy organic but also want to save a little money without sacrificing health. I was surprised to see green beans on the dirty dozen list -- I haven't seen that one before.

How does practicing a work-life balance create a more sustainable life for you? How might it contribute to sustainability more broadly?

Creating a good work-life balance eliminates the feeling of being rushed all the time, which allows me to make better everyday decisions, including making more sustainable choices. These can include monitoring the products I purchase, taking time to meal prep healthy foods that result in minimal waste, making sure to recycle properly, etc.

What are the implications for a culture that spends most of its time inside and on screens?

    Marisa Kolanovic's avatar

Often this results in a lack of proper social connection, which can lead to mental health disorders such as depression or social anxiety. Also, more time inside on screens usually means less exercise and less time spent outdoors getting sunlight and fresh air, which have countless health benefits.
