It was a nice break from staring at the computer today to volunteer for Green Kirkland. Blackberries did not want to go away but we fought them hard. And we were rewarded by seeing turtles in the shallow waters of Juanita Bay.

What most interested or surprised you about your energy audit?

It was interesting to get tips on how we can save more energy. It matters not only to save $$ but to make sure we have enough power for everyone's daily needs. When you read about communities with rolling blackouts , you definitely don't want that in your own town.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION

What was your process like for restructuring your trip? How can you avoid more air travel in the future?

Driving makes your journey a vacation, but it is even better, if you can take a train or a boat. Then your journey becomes a relaxing vacation. Also staying close to home means more nature trips.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION

What did you watch, and what was the most important thing you learned in the documentaries you watched? How does what you learned connect to your understanding of climate change and Earth Month?

David Attenborough – A life on our planet is a great documentary. It talks about the animals that are becoming harder to find , it documents our beautiful world and explains what we need to do to stop damage to our planet.
