You'll be an Earth Month Ecochallenge 2023: Sustainable Development Goals expert in no time!
"Life is all about balance"
On Wed 19th April, I will attend Emerson's Global Earth Week Webinar to learn about the importance of individual action in our collective journey to sustainability.
I will sign up to the Sustainability Aficionados distribution list to receive global news on sustainability at Emerson, including world news and Greening OF, BY and WITH news.
I will take at least one of the Emerson Global Environmental Sustainability Training modules available on the Global Learning Center to learn more about this important topic for the company.
I will take at least one photograph that shows how sustainability / the energy transition already shows up in my daily life (e.g., electric vehicles, paper packaging…), and I will post it on LinkedIn with the hashtags #EarthMonthEcochallenge #EarthMonthAtEmerson.
SDG 7
I spend 2 minutes analyzing my recent utility bills, which might include electricity, gas, or water to see what my current usage is and determine if I can reduce my energy and water use.
SDG 2
I will cook 3 meals with zero waste each day.
I will try a new vegan or vegetarian recipe and share how it turns out on the Ecochallenge feed, or with family and friends.
SDG 3, 5, 10, 16
Each day, I will spend 30 minutes learning about these SDGs and talk with 30 people about what I learned.
SDG 10
Access to affordable, nutritious food is a food justice issue. I will advocate for equitable food options at work, campus, or in the spaces I frequent by contacting community leaders and/or doing other advocacy actions.
SDG 10, 16
Access to public transportation enables more opportunity and a better quality of life. I will make 10 phone calls and/or send 10 emails per day to public officials to advocate for a more comprehensive public transportation system in my region.
SDG 9
I will mend clothing for myself, family or friends.
SDG 1
I will volunteer 1 hours in my community.
SDG 4, 8, 11, 17
Each day, I will spend 30 minutes learning about these SDGs and talk with 2 people about what I learned.
SDG 9
Each day, I will spend time developing a readiness plan for my household in the event of an emergency.
SDG 14, 15
Each day, I will spend 30 minutes exploring a new area around my neighborhood (e.g., park, water body, nearby trail, community garden, green space, etc.).
Reflection, encouragement, and relationship building are all important aspects of getting a new habit to stick.
Share thoughts, encourage others, and reinforce positive new habits on the Feed.
To get started, share “your why.” Why did you join the challenge and choose the actions you did?
