  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Climate & Ecosystems
How is planting trees good for your mental, physical, and spiritual health?

    Christine Lee's avatar
    Christine Lee 4/30/2023 8:25 AM
Planting trees can help reduce stress and anxiety for the people living especially in city area. Looking at plants and flowers, whether indoors or outdoors, is a peaceful activity free of worries. It encourages living in the present moment and engages the senses.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Economy & Communities
What did you watch, and what was the most important thing you learned in the documentaries you watched? How does what you learned connect to your understanding of climate change and Earth Month?

    Christine Lee's avatar

Watched The Power of Big Oil documentary. There are 3 parts : Part 1 charts the fossil fuel industry’s early research on climate change and investigates industry efforts to sow seeds of doubt about the science. Part 2 explores the industry’s efforts to stall climate policy, even as evidence about climate change grew more certain in the new millennium. And as leading climate scientists issue new warnings about climate change, Part 3 examines how the fossil fuel industry worked to delay the transition to renewable energy sources — including by promoting natural gas as a cleaner alternative.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Health & Equity
How have you reduced your purchasing habits and what would you like to do next to reduce your consumption habits?

    Christine Lee's avatar
    Christine Lee 4/30/2023 7:30 AM
Think first before buying. Always ask whether the material is recyclable and only buy the necessary,
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Health & Equity
What was it like to practice mindfulness? If this is a practice for you already, what was something new you understood in practicing during Earth Month?

    Christine Lee's avatar
    Christine Lee 4/30/2023 7:19 AM
Practice mindfulness can improve brain health and slowing brain aging, reducing stress, anxiety, and depression symptoms,
increasing a sense of well-being, helping with pain management
improving quality of life for those living with chronic conditions. During Earth month, I practice mindfulness is to focus on the breath, resting your attention on the inhalation and exhalation repeatedly.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Education & Livelihood
How does practicing a work-life balance create a more sustainable life for you? How might it contribute to sustainability more broadly?

    Christine Lee's avatar
    Christine Lee 4/30/2023 7:15 AM
    1. Accept that there is no "perfect" work-life balance
    2. Find a job that you love
    3. Prioritize your health
    4. Don't be afraid to unplug
    5. Take a vacation/break
    6. Make time for yourself and you loved ones
    7. Set boundaries and work hours
    8. Set goal and priorities (self-discipline & determination)
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Health & Equity
What are the implications for a culture that spends most of its time inside and on screens?

    Christine Lee's avatar
    Christine Lee 4/29/2023 8:30 PM
The more time you spend looking at a screen, the less time you spend interacting in person with others. This makes it more difficult to establish interpersonal connections and strong relationships, which are important for mental health and the health of the community at large

watched Food Choices DOCUMENTARY - The truth about Food, Diet and Wellness. This documentary explores the impact that food choices have on people’s health, the health of our planet and on the lives of other living species. And also discusses several misconceptions about food and diet, offering a unique new perspective on these issues. Trying to reduce the animal based food, take more plant based. This step will reduce the CO2 emission of protein.
