Economy & Communities
Analyze Your Utility Bills
SDG 7
I spend 3 minutes analyzing my recent utility bills, which might include electricity, gas, or water to see what my current usage is and determine if I can reduce my energy and water use.
Climate & Ecosystems
Watch a Documentary About Climate Change or Nature
SDG 13, 14, 15
I will watch 1 documentaries about climate change.
Education & Livelihood
Host or Join a Cleanup Event
SDG 11, 17
Within my community at home or work, I will organize or attend a local cleanup event.
Education & Livelihood
Try Carpooling
SDG 11
I will commute by carpool 2 mile(s) per day and avoid sending up to (___) lbs of CO2 into Earth's atmosphere.
Economy & Communities
Choose Clean/Renewable Energy
SDG 7
I will contact my energy company to find out how to sign up for my utility company's clean/renewable energy option.
Climate & Ecosystems
Drive Less
SDG 13
To reduce CO2 emissions each day, I will cut my car trip mileage by only taking necessary trips.
Basic Needs & Security
Try a New Vegan or Vegetarian Recipe
I will try a new vegan or vegetarian recipe and share how it turns out on the Ecochallenge feed, or with family and friends.
Education & Livelihood
Stay on the Ground
SDG 11
Instead of traveling by plane, I will find an alternative way to accomplish the goals of an upcoming trip (i.e. telepresence, vacation locally). As an example, a plane from New York to Los Angeles (~2,450 miles) generates about 65 tons of carbon dioxide.
Education & Livelihood
ENGAGE WITH CLIENTS
I will research my client’s sustainability goals and actions and work with my account team to brainstorm ways Slalom can help.
Climate & Ecosystems
LEARN ABOUT SLALOM’S IMPACT
I will spend 5 minutes per day learning about Slalom’s impact and environmental action by reading the 2021 Impact Report and viewing resources on the Earth Month SharePoint page.

REFLECTION QUESTIONEconomy & CommunitiesWhat was the most interesting thing you learned from analyzing your utility bill? What are some ways you can save energy and water?
Carolyn McDaniel 4/03/2023 9:06 AMWe've decided to be more efficient with our laundry by air drying clothes when we can. We already use cold water in our HE washer. We also installed new windows, doors and shades, which will help with our overall energy bills.
