REFLECTION QUESTIONClimate & EcosystemsWhy is it important to take care of pollinators? Do you have a favorite pollinator?
Kate McGregor 4/20/2023 7:50 AMIt's important to take care of pollinators for so many reasons, but perhaps most obviously because they enable our food to grow. No pollinators = no food. I have a 30'x35' veggie garden, plus a large flower garden. I've already started my seedlings, which include many pollinator-friendly flowers (cosmos, zinnias, sunflowers, etc.) and around 20 different veggie varieties. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONHealth & EquityWhat was it like to practice mindfulness? If this is a practice for you already, what was something new you understood in practicing during Earth Month?
Kate McGregor 4/05/2023 6:39 AMI've tried practicing mindfulness before, and I always have a hard time sticking with it. I'm glad to be prompted by the Eco Challange to try again, because it really does help me pause and center myself. Even just a few minutes helps. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONEducation & LivelihoodHow does practicing a work-life balance create a more sustainable life for you? How might it contribute to sustainability more broadly?
Kate McGregor 4/04/2023 10:13 AMThe biggest part of my work-life balance is living walking distance from work. I realize I am incredibly fortunate in this respect. I can walk to work no matter the weather, and spend less than 10 minutes "commuting" each day. The result is less stress, more free time, and less driving.-

Kate McGregor 4/03/2023 10:12 AMI'll further reduce my water consumption by using a rain barrel to help with watering my garden this year. -
