Rose's actions
Education & Livelihood
Host or Join a Cleanup Event
SDG 11, 17
Within my community at home or work, I will organize or attend a local cleanup event.
Basic Needs & Security
Volunteer in My Community
SDG 1
I will volunteer 4 hours in my community.
Health & Equity
Watch a Documentary About Equity, Gender, Health, or Peace
SDG 3, 5, 10, 16
I will watch 2 documentaries about equity, gender, health, or peace.
Basic Needs & Security
Collect and Use Rainwater when possible
I collect rainwater to water all of my plants. I garden a lot and rainwater collection is budget-friendly and reduces my depedence on utility companies.
Basic Needs & Security
Compost all compostable waste
I compost all of my compostable waste: food scraps, rabbit manure, and cardboard/paper products. I garden with the resulting compost to produce zero-waste food, herbs, and pollinator plants in order to reduce waste and save money.
Basic Needs & Security
Upcycle Plastics or other Reusable items
Its difficult to avoid single use plastics with every purchase, but you can upcycle them! Any item I can upcycle into a planter gets used to grow out seedlings or the like. Think sour cream containers, egg crates, plastic pastry containers, and the lost goes on!
Education & Livelihood
Educational Conversation
Talking about the importance of sustainability is one of the best ways to advocate for change. To complete this challlenge, have a conversation with someone about sustainable efforts, practices, conservation, or even just how much you love the planet
Climate & Ecosystems
Decline Single-Use Plastics
To help reduce the impact of single-use plastics, decline those items when offered. Complete this challenge by choosing an alternative to straws, grocery bags, or other plastics that only get one use before ending up in the environment.
Basic Needs & Security
Try a New Vegan or Vegetarian Recipe
I will try a new vegan or vegetarian recipe and share how it turns out on the Ecochallenge feed, or with family and friends.
Participant Feed
Reflection, encouragement, and relationship building are all important aspects of getting a new habit to stick.
Share thoughts, encourage others, and reinforce positive new habits on the Feed.
To get started, share “your why.” Why did you join the challenge and choose the actions you did?

Rose Miller 4/08/2023 12:43 PMRepurposed totes and buckets into planters, turned and added to my compost, repotted and moved all my fruit trees outside; overall I had a pretty productive day today. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONBasic Needs & SecurityWhat was the dish you made, and how did it turn out? What did it feel like to try a new recipe? If you can share a picture, please do!
