It is beginning to be garden planting season. Our season is very short here in the Northeast. Our neighbors and our family share seeds, compsot deliveries, starts, and labor. Last year we shared the bounty as well. Hoping fo another great growing season in Vermont.

Following up on last year's focus on local food, our family has chosen to focus on the local foo deconomy this year. Our goal is to grow as much food for ourselves as we can this summer and to hopefully have enough to share with the local food bank or soup kitchens.

What surprised you about the two produce lists? How will you use these lists for your grocery shopping? Have you used these lists before?

I pay attention to the Dirty Dozen list of produce wit the most chemical residue. Sadly, avocados were recently added to the list. We love strawberries and are hoping to have a bumper crop this year.
