Looking forward to meeting my goals today and moving forward
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Economy & Communities
What was the most interesting thing you learned from analyzing your utility bill? What are some ways you can save energy and water?

    Mike Palmatier's avatar
    Mike Palmatier 4/30/2023 11:10 AM
I track daily water usage through online tank monitoring. We target daily use and audit when we exceed targets. 4 minutes showers, full load laundry and dishwasher runs, very reduced landscaping watering, etc are utilized to reduce water consumption.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Climate & Ecosystems
What ecological or xeriscape landscaping practices do you have? How has your landscape changed from these practices?

    Mike Palmatier's avatar
    Mike Palmatier 4/30/2023 11:07 AM
We moved to indigenous plants (cactus, agave, yuca, Joshua tree, etc) to conserve water and match landscaping to natural conditions.

  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Climate & Ecosystems
Why is it important to take care of pollinators? Do you have a favorite pollinator?

    Mike Palmatier's avatar
    Mike Palmatier 4/30/2023 10:51 AM
Pollinators in a desert environment are very important. We have 7 acres of untouched, natural environment for them to live in.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION

How is planting trees good for your mental, physical, and spiritual health?

    Mike Palmatier's avatar
    Mike Palmatier 4/30/2023 10:49 AM
Preserving natural habitat is extremely important to nature. We have consciously retained 7 acres of natural desert plants and trees vs clearing the area for development.
