I will express my love and gratitude for our planet by writing a love letter, poem, song or taking a picture. I will share this in the Ecochallenge feed or on my social media.

Ecological & Xeriscape Gardening
SDG 14, 15
Studies show a grass lawn is water intensive and on average it require about 30 percent of a household’s water consumption. I will do one or more of the following actions in my yard or community to conserve water and improve habitat: plant indigenous plants, landscape with water-efficient plants, add mulching, replace a lawn, and/or use eco-friendly fertilizers.
Climate & Ecosystems
Support Local Pollinators
SDG 15
At least 30% of crops and 90% of flowering plants rely on pollinators to produce fruit. I will plant pollinator-friendly plants in my area to support local pollinators.
Climate & Ecosystems
Plant a Tree
SDG 15
On average, a tree absorbs 10 kilograms (22 pounds) of carbon dioxide yearly during the first 20 years. To do my part, I will plant 10 trees in my community, public parks, or backyard.

REFLECTION QUESTIONClimate & EcosystemsWhat ecological or xeriscape landscaping practices do you have? How has your landscape changed from these practices?
Manasi Pandey 4/28/2023 11:54 AMI use organic fertilizers only. I avoid weedicides and chemical based pesticides. Neem oil is an excellent organic pesticide that I spray on my fruit trees. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONClimate & EcosystemsWhy is art an important way for you to express sustainability values?
Manasi Pandey 4/07/2023 12:58 PMA picture speaks more than a 1000 words. Art reflects how we see the world around us. Making earth and environment friendly art conveys this message to large groups who can then be inspired to follow. -
