REFLECTION QUESTIONHealth & EquityWhat was it like to practice mindfulness? If this is a practice for you already, what was something new you understood in practicing during Earth Month?
Levi Pothier 4/06/2023 11:34 AMMindfulness practice is taking stock of things, its letting go of the daily stressors and using the time instead to look internally and just breathe. Mindfulness is not a one size fits all approach and I aim to keep trying to find the method that fits best for me. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONEconomy & CommunitiesWhat one thing will you do right away to reduce your waste? What is the second thing you will do?
Levi Pothier 4/03/2023 10:09 AMMy major point of waste reduction is the use of reusable glass containers to store things. My second choice for waste reduction is to go to more bulk stores for all things from home goods to foods. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONClimate & EcosystemsHow has your access to various kinds of transportation throughout your life influenced your current attitudes about transportation and your transportation behavior?
Levi Pothier 4/03/2023 10:07 AMHaving lived in a number of places, both with robust transport systems and with no transport system in place at all, I can say that those robust systems are incredibly valuable to allowing equitable access to all aspects of a community. Free and abundant public transport should be the norm and I will continue to advocate for exactly that. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONEconomy & CommunitiesWhat was it like to create a readiness plan? Did you find other resources you could share?
Levi Pothier 4/03/2023 10:06 AMI spend a ton of time working to try and be ready for contingencies, especially living in a city like Portland that has terrible infrastructure and little to no direct governmental support regarding disaster prep. While I don't have any direct resources to share, I implore everyone to have water storage, shelter and medical supplies on hand to be ready to go in the event of any catastrophe. -
Levi Pothier 4/03/2023 9:23 AMIt's begun! Team WYLD let's go! -
