Basic Needs & Security
Giving up pre-packaged burritoes
I have had a Amy's frozen every morning for probably the past five years. The come individually wrapped in plastic and are rather pricier. I am committed to not have one in April and instead opt for preparing the basic components ahead of time, so I can quickly prepare an quick and easy meal each morning.
Education & Livelihood

REFLECTION QUESTIONHealth & EquityWhat was it like to practice mindfulness? If this is a practice for you already, what was something new you understood in practicing during Earth Month?
Kevin Relyea 4/28/2023 6:27 AMThis was an existing practice for me, so what I learned new during this challenge was the value of incorporating it into my everyday schedule. Sometimes the benefits of meditation aren't obvious, but I know that I have a clearer head and better control over my emotions. I am excited to continue this practice moving forward. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONEducation & LivelihoodHow does using human-powered transportation make you feel compared to using other methods of transportation?
Kevin Relyea 4/28/2023 6:15 AMI was actually thinking about this question on my bike home this morning. I had the thought that the power needed to escort my daughter to school should come from me and not from the earth (i.e. fossil fuel). The distance isn't much, but it felt satisfying to make a small but important contribution.
