Diana's actions

Health & Equity

Communicate Constructively

SDG 16

I will use the communication methods I read about to practice effective, compassionate, and nonviolent communication with someone I interact with regularly (i.e., my roommate, parents, co-worker, partner, classmates, or children).

COMPLETED 15
DAILY ACTIONS

Climate & Ecosystems

Drive Less

SDG 13

To reduce CO2 emissions each day, I will cut my car trip mileage by only taking necessary trips.

COMPLETED 14
DAILY ACTIONS

Health & Equity

Spend Time Outside

SDG 3

I will replace 5 minute(s) per day typically spent inside (computer time, watching television, etc.) with quality time outside exercising, enjoying the sunrise/sunset, gardening, journaling, or practicing gratitude for nature.

COMPLETED 15
DAILY ACTIONS

Education & Livelihood

Work-Life Balance

SDG 8

During the workday, I will schedule time for daily breaks during work days to practice work-life balance.

COMPLETED 15
DAILY ACTIONS

Basic Needs & Security

Reduce Animal Product Consumption

SDG 2

One kilogram of beef and cheese emits 71kg and 24kg of greenhouse gasses, while 1kg of rice, grains, and legumes emits between 2-4kg. Fruits, vegetables, and nuts emit less than 1kg per 1kg. I will reduce my climate impact by enjoying 1 meatless meals and/or 1 vegan meals each day this week.

Grainger hosted a sustainability webinar for customers and partners.
They provided tools and tips for businesses to reduce energy consumption, conserve water and reduce waste.

It was very interesting to see our partners become more involved in this mission.

If you are involved in your community or know someone that works in states, local governments, tribal agencies and NGO, the EPA will be releasing a grant to obtain resources and technical assistance to reduce / improve air pollutions in schools.

This month I have participated in different Sustainability related webinars from industry partners. Sharing some highlights of interesting information I learned.

Steve Ashkin is known as the Father of Green Cleaning, he consults with the EPA on Green Disinfectant Certification and Safer Choice Partner of the Year programs. He also supports US Green Building Council on LEED certification guidelines, as well as being involved with the ISSA Sustainability Committee.

You can see in the image below the definition of Green Products or "Environmentally Preferable" that was made standard in the Presidential Executive Order in 1993.
