I watched Meltdown (2021). It was very intriguing to see how climate change affected the subject of the documentary through photography. The film highlighted the similarities between the fleetingness of our lives and the rapid melting of the Arctic ice.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Health & Equity
Why is it important to honor native and indigenous peoples and cultures? What have you learned that is important to you? If you identify with or are a member of an indigenous group, how does your community practice sustainability?

It is always a good idea to educate oneself on the history of the land we live on and the peoples that have called it home. Learning about Native peoples can help us better understand the hardships they have faced and how we can help honor their legacy. Also, there's a lot to learn in the realm of sustainability from Indigenous communities.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Climate & Ecosystems
What is one way you will reduce your carbon footprint? What is a practice you already have that helps you reduce your carbon footprint?

One way that I can minimize my carbon footprint in the future is by prioritizing in-season and locally sourced goods when grocery shopping. An example of a carbon footprint-reducing activity that I have already implemented in my life is avoiding meals that include beef products.
