I confess I never got to make the dish I wanted to try - I have all the ingredients, I just ran the out of time in the month. I DO still intend to try it though, here's the link! https://pin.it/GktdUZe

If you work with me you will have the opportunity to try it if it works out, so email me!

One of the things that I am lucky enough to do is work in higher education, where we touch so many underserved students with significant barriers. By providing information and access you can change someone's whole life trajectory, and that all impacts sustainability goals.

What most interested or surprised you about your energy audit?

    Michele Sprague's avatar
    Michele Sprague 4/26/2023 6:29 PM
To be fair, I have a very old house (built in the 1840s) that is slowly getting into the 21st century. As such, my home isn't exactly airtight. We still have to reinsulate about 1/3 of it, and some of the doors are in need of replacement (or at least the seals are). The furnace is also not the most efficient, but we have energy star appliances and use entirely LED light bulbs and fixtures The windows are relatively new though, which is positive! I also get bonus points for going green on my electric and being part of a solar farm, where I also receive 5% off my total bill.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Health & Equity
How is food equity and access linked to a sustainable future?

    Michele Sprague's avatar
    Michele Sprague 4/26/2023 6:17 PM
Food access and food waste go hand in hand. Overall smarter measures can help prevent waste, as can grow local/stay local/eat local initiatives. The less a food item has to travel the less emissions due to transport there are, the longer period of use it has, and the more likely it is to be consumed. Food access and sustainability can both be addressed by staying local for your purchases!
