TRACY's actions
Health & Equity
Spend Time Outside
SDG 3
I will replace 30 minute(s) per day typically spent inside (computer time, watching television, etc.) with quality time outside exercising, enjoying the sunrise/sunset, gardening, journaling, or practicing gratitude for nature.
Climate & Ecosystems
Collect Litter on a Plog / Plalk
SDG 15
Each day, I will go on a plog or plalk for 30 minutes and collect 5 items of litter.
Climate & Ecosystems
Calculate Your Carbon Impact
SDG 13
I will calculate the carbon emissions associated with my household and consider how lifestyle changes could reduce the carbon footprint and impacts on the environment.
Climate & Ecosystems
Support Local Pollinators
SDG 15
At least 30% of crops and 90% of flowering plants rely on pollinators to produce fruit. I will plant pollinator-friendly plants in my area to support local pollinators.
Health & Equity
Practice Mindfulness
SDG 3
I will spend 30 minutes each day practicing mindfulness.
Health & Equity
Communicate Constructively
SDG 16
I will use the communication methods I read about to practice effective, compassionate, and nonviolent communication with someone I interact with regularly (i.e., my roommate, parents, co-worker, partner, classmates, or children).
Participant Feed
Reflection, encouragement, and relationship building are all important aspects of getting a new habit to stick.
Share thoughts, encourage others, and reinforce positive new habits on the Feed.
To get started, share “your why.” Why did you join the challenge and choose the actions you did?

REFLECTION QUESTIONHealth & EquityWhat are the implications for a culture that spends most of its time inside and on screens?
TRACY TESTERMAN 4/19/2023 9:35 AMNot spending time in fresh air and moving about will cause a culture to develop sore and stiff joints, poor health overall, and bad eyesight (due to the screens). -
REFLECTION QUESTIONClimate & EcosystemsWhat was your experience like plogging, or engaging in another way to collect litter while being outside? Was there any item you collected that was unusual that you found?
TRACY TESTERMAN 4/18/2023 1:45 PMMy husband and I walk in the morning and find ourselves tidying up the park after the neighborhood kids have had a night out. We find lots of crazy things. This morning's crazy item was 1/2 of a plastic chair.-

REFLECTION QUESTIONClimate & EcosystemsWhy is it important to take care of pollinators? Do you have a favorite pollinator?
TRACY TESTERMAN 4/18/2023 1:43 PMPollinators make the world go around, literally! I have respect for all pollinators, although I'm allergic to bees! (If you've never been to Disney's Animal Kingdom and watched the It's Tough to be a Bug show, get there!)-
Hannah Anderson 4/19/2023 3:27 PMTook our kiddo there for their 5th birthday and they were terrified and in tears. Ditto to the Rainforest Cafe. We didn't really know at the time they had sensitivity to certain stimuli. 😬
