REFLECTION QUESTIONClimate & EcosystemsWas this hard for you to do?
Ivana Tough 4/27/2023 11:37 AMAlthough we did not participate on April 26th, Sunil and I were successful in carpooling in together in spite of our working hour differences! -
REFLECTION QUESTIONHealth & EquityWhat is easy for you to do when having a constructive conversation and what is challenging? What tips do you have for having a constructive conversation?
Ivana Tough 4/27/2023 10:56 AMA great tip is to ask questions instead of assuming!
The most challenging part of having a constructive conversation is how I am sometimes perceived. I try to be sincere but the person I am speaking with interprets me as being sarcastic or mocking - not a great feeling when everyone thinks you're a joke all the time.-

REFLECTION QUESTIONEconomy & CommunitiesWhat one thing will you do right away to reduce your waste? What is the second thing you will do?
Ivana Tough 4/27/2023 10:52 AMInstead of cans of carbonated water, we have switched to a soda stream.
Next, I am hoping to try out an indoor composting device to fully use kitchen waste to use for my mini-garden! -
REFLECTION QUESTIONHealth & EquityWhat was surprising about the ingredients in your cleaning supplies, personal care, and pet products?
Ivana Tough 4/27/2023 10:47 AMCream of tartar was the biggest surprise for me. I was able to have a great chat with my mother-in-law last weekend about her home-made cleaning recipes. She has her own cleaning company and noticed very quickly that buying your ordinary store products was not only a expensive, but wasteful and having a negative impact on her health. -

REFLECTION QUESTIONHealth & EquityWhat are the implications for a culture that spends most of its time inside and on screens?
Ivana Tough 4/24/2023 12:35 PMWe see these articles everywhere; too much screen time is bad. It is bad for our eyesight, bad for our posture, it has even gotten bad for morale.
I have noticed a divide in camps concerning this topic:
1. A culture where people find value/are seen as more productive and hard working and
2. A culture where time away from screens is revered.
I am of the second one. I feel like the amount of time required for those of us who are not in the I.T/Gaming/a multitude of other industries has gotten out of hand.
Another prime example is the grief from friends and family when I don't answer text messages or memes right away. It causes unnecessary friction and I would prefer not being guilted for having gotten lost in a book.-
