I am less afraid of taking a bus due to using it during rodeo season. I trust they will get me where I need to be.

I think one of my kids' favorite experiences during last spring break was public transit in Chicago. They flipped when the subway we were on turned into an El :)

I have really enjoyed putting my time outside towards my garden! I have watched my tomatoes flourish. I have added bell peppers and jalapenos to the mix.

I'm jealous of your warm weather! We still had frost advisories this past weekend. What are you doing with your veggies?

Instead of throwing my old bananas out, I made banana nut bread. It turned out really good!

Which recipe did you use? Our office favorite has peanut butter chips in it. Recently discovered you can throw your old bananas in the freezer (peel and all) since there's a fine line between perfect-for-bread and nasty. :)

Thank you for the great advice. I'll definitely put them in the freezer for now on. This is the recipe that I used... I hope you enjoy as much as my family and I.
      2 large eggs, beaten
      1 cup mashed bananas
      ½ cup vegetable oil
      ⅓ cup buttermilk
      1 ¾ cups all-purpose flour
      1 ½ cups white sugar
      1 teaspoon baking soda
      ½ teaspoon salt
      ½ cup chopped pecans (Optional)

I try to listen with the intention of understanding what the other person is trying to convey. When you listed to understand versus listening to respond, communication goes much more smoothly.

I find myself asking people to repeat themselves to make sure I understand what they're saying. I also repeat it in the way I heard it to see if were on the same page. It's been a great tool to ensure people are being heard.

Since June of 2022, we began recycling. We are making moves to compost and grow some of our own spices and vegetables. Starting small with hopes of doing more as we can!

What was it like to practice mindfulness? If this is a practice for you already, what was something new you understood in practicing during Earth Month?

Practicing mindfulness is having complete and total awareness of your thoughts, feelings, emotions, environment etc, through a gentle lens. It has brought me to a heightened awareness of doing more to protect the environment, namely by doing everything I can to create less waste and decrease my carbon footprint.
