    Wonderful day outside!!

I was looking for an alternative for weed killer. I found this recipe of all natural ingredients. Try it if you like, but just know that it will what it touches, so don't spray the flowers and plants! 1 Gallon Vinegar 2 cups Epsom Salt 1/4 cup Dish Soap Spray Bottle Mix all the ingredients, then put into a spray bottle. You will need to treat...

In celebration of Earth Day, I planted a Shumard Oak tree. I got the tree free from the Electric Company. They give away free trees every year for Earth Day. This year, they also had a community event in one of the nature parks. People participated in cleaning up the trails, and enjoyed some games, face painting, and activities.

I enjoy the outdoors and find relaxation when I'm there. My son is an avid fisherman and I want to protect the lands that are important to him, as well. He won't be able to enjoy a hobby he is so passionate about if we don't care for the environment now!

I watched the Plastic Problem on PBS and Eating Our Way to Extinction on Earth Day. Both are movies everyone should take the time to watch and determine what they can personally do to create positive change for the planet. It is now time to step up and BE the change. As stewards of this planet and everything that lives here, I believe we are...

This was the first time that I have viewed this list, but now that I have I will be sure to buy organic for the Dirty Dozen and will be comfortable knowing that I can buy organic of non-organic of the Clean 15. I will also keep these lists in mind when shopping at the Farmer's Market in the summer and to ask the vendors about their pesticide...

My water footprint is 2,110 gallons a day which is above the national average of 1880. However, 1000 of this is for pet food because in addition to feeding my two cats, I also take care of an outside feral community of cats, so I realistically, I won't reduce my water footprint there, and without that piece, we are doing pretty good. Things we...

Watched The Pollinators - Biggest learning for me is that we need change in way farming is done to save our pollinators, because without pollinators we lose our food change. Climate is shifting because of how we produce our food (chemicals causing pollution). we need simplified farming, creating healthy soil, reducing chemical usage. Done right...

Earth Day cleanup at Chet Hobert Patk in Berryville, VA! Actually kind of relaxing, refreshing, to just stare at nature and not at your phone for a whole hour.
