Watched a documentary on the impact that general industry/manufacturing has on climate change. It's astonishing that something we take for granted uses so much energy and isn't necessarily good for the environment.

"How America Works" is an amazing program that shows the everyday labor that we take for granted, from mining copper to laying massive pipeline. I gave me a new appreciation for these workers.

I actually started analyzing my utility bills including how much "run-time" my HVAC is on each month. It now helps me to recognize various patterns and how I can continue to decrease electricity and natural gas consumption.

I watched a documentary on California redwoods and in search of the tallest redwood tree. This included scientists actually climbing these redwoods to gain valuable information including how old a particular tree actually was. It was amazing how old some of these trees actually were.

Honey bees are my favorite "pollinators as are hummingbirds. I never knew that hummingbirds were pollinators too until I watched a documentary on various pollinators, which included these remarkable birds.

I enjoy volunteering at our food bank. I happen to often go on a morning when a group of children come to help pack food boxes. They are fun to work with. I would like to volunteer with Habitat for Humanity but need to find a way to make that happen with work schedule.
